Sometimes a window will develope a cloudy or foggy look that cannot be cleaned from the inside or outside. I see this too often while cleaning windows in Marion, Ohio. This is because the cloudiness is between the panes of glass.
Most windows are constructed with two panes of glass. The glass is separated with a spacer bar and then sealed. The trapped air acts as insulation. This is reffered to as “Insulated Glass” or “Thermal Pane Windows”. Over time this seal can fail, allowing moisture to enter the space between the glass, which causes the cloudy or foggy look.
Who’s fault is this?
It could be a manufacturing defect caused by poor initial design or poor workmanship during manufacturing. So possibly this would be covered by a warranty. Most likely the windows have just reached their engineered life span.
What can be done?
There are processes that can remove the moisture and clear up the glass, but these are expensive and it is usually best to just have the window replaced.
I hope this information was helpful. Stay tuned for more questions to be answered about your windows.

Yes! I can clean your windows no matter how cold it gets!
I’m sure you will be glad to hear this because your windows probably get dirtier in the winter than they do in the summer. This is due to increased winds. Another factor is that while your windows may be partially protected from the rain, which for the most part comes straight down, by your roof overhang. The snow will float under the overhang and onto your windows, spotting up the dust that has accumulated.
Obviously cleaning windows in the winter takes special equipment and techniques. The greatest challenge is to keep the water from freezing while cleaning the window. I have a special solution that allows me to do this in temperatures well below 0 degrees fahrenheit.
So don’t let freezing temperatures keep you from enjoying the beautiful winter scenery from your windows. Give Kevin’s window cleaning a call today for a free quote 740-815-2535

I certainly understand the desire to want to do things yourself. I do minor maintenance on my vehicles, mow my own grass. When it comes to certain things, such as furnace repair, I don’t hesitate to call a professional. Should this be true for your windows?
I own a small window washing company in Marion, Ohio. I feel you would be wise to call a pro to maintain your windows for the following reasons:
For your home - You deserve to fully enjoy the view from your home. Imagine, coming home from your busy day, sitting down and looking outside through a window that is so clean it’s like it isn’t there. The problem with using a rag a spray cleaner is that even if they look good initially, the streaks and smears will soon show up, spoiling your view.
So you have spent all that time, but without the proper equipment or skills it is like wasting your valuable time.
For your business - You want to present a clean, professional appearance to your customers. Your windows are not just windows, they are your image. You are also busy managing your business. A professional can take this necessary task off your shoulders.
I hope these points have helped a little.

Few things are more enjoyable, than looking through your pristine windows from the comfort of your home, at the beautiful scenery outside. That view can be marred by scratches in your window glass. No matter how clean they are, scratches will still be there.
How did my glass get scratched?
I used to believe only a diamond can scratch glass. Actually, there are many things that could have caused your scratches.
- Scratched can be caused by the clean-up after construction. Brick mortar, concrete, paint, if removed improperly, can cause scratches.
- Something as simple as a scouring pad from your sink. This may seem a quick way to remove ketchup or other grime from your window, but it can scratch or cloud the glass.
- Glass that has been tinted by a film can even be scratched by your fingernail or a dry rag.
As you can see, your glass could be scratched in many ways. Once it has been damaged it is difficult if not impossible to repair and expensive to replace.
This is why I suggest having your windows professionally cleaned. If you are looking for someone to do professional window cleaning in the Marion, Ohio area, Please give me a call!
